Job Description - Our client is seeking a Sr. Network Architect to perform network design & analysis of new architectures, new routing and restoration approaches, algorithms and applications; develop and implement features for simulation and planning tools; and make recommendations based on analysis & simulation results. Will interface and work closely with planning and simulation tool development organization as well as the Interworking and Advanced Applications group. SKILLS REQUIRED: MUST have the ability to define & conduct network design, simulation and performance analysis activities to evaluate new architectures, with strong hands-on skills in developing and implementing features for simulation and planning tools. Extensive knowledge of packet networking protocols, particularly IP with practical experience working with one or more of the following: prototype or real systems development in the networking software area, IP routing development is a MUST. Experience with PC's and Windows NT network environment, including hardware upgrades, bios level configuration, and NT 4.0 workstations & Server, as well as experience developing Microsoft Access database forms and reports is REQUIRED. Experience in rigorous network simulation and modeling is CRUCIAL. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with strong solution-oriented approach skills towards problem solving. US Citizenship/Permanent Residency is PREFERRED.
